Winter mornings bring a special kind of calm to the Old Man of Storr, a striking rock formation on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. The stunning Skye Trail is an unofficial challenging 80mile route across Skye. You can of course just do bits of it during your stay. From coastal trails to ridges, this route has it all.

Classed as one of the easier Cuillins, this is 8.5 mile hike has stunning views on a clear day.

For a wee adventure in the south of the island, try Spar Cave. Access is at low tide, be prepared to get wet feet and don't forget a torch!
